Hickory is a Tall Candle with a diameter slightly larger than a Standard Taper Candle. It is cast from a section of  developing branch with mature and immature branch nodes over a lightly textured primary bark.

The base of the Hickory Candle should fit most standard sized receptacles. Use Candle Stik 'Um, Quake Hold or a pea-sized bit of plasticine clay to fix them into a standard or larger holder.  Alternatively, the base of the candle can be softened. Place the candle ends in a cup of just boiled hot water (as for tea) for one minute to allow for trimming or forcing into a smaller receptacle.

Burned at Common Use Intervals of up to 3 hours per lighting, Hickory Candles should burn for 15 - plus hours with proper wick trimming at each lighting.

Continuous Burn Tests of the Hickory Candle average 13 - plus hours, with moderate error in wick burn and dripping.

The Hickory Candle is a good performer that does better in interval burn, yet may remain lit for longer periods with appropriate care and supervision. (please refer to "Tips and Proper Use" card and warning labels)

As with other styles of Stick Candles with pronounced "branchlets", most of the horizontal elements will be consumed by the candle flame.  Some un-melted and partially melted bits of wax will break off before being fully consumed, and fall alongside the shaft of the candle. All Stick Candles should be used in a receptacle with a wide brim or dish at the candle base to catch falling wax. For Outdoor Use : Hurricane Glass or a Fire-Safe Wind Enclosure is an absolute necessity as drafts and breezy conditions will lead to excessive dripping.

The Hickory Candle is a favorite to many for its larger size and "woodsy" rustic feel. It is equally at home in modern settings, and presents well as a Pair or in Groups.
